Seafood hunt at Lamma Island

Popular outlying island Lamma has a vibrant international dining scene and many arty cafes, but its restaurants serving fresh seafood are the star attractions here. Find the best choices along the waterfront of its two main villages – cosmopolitan Yung Shue Wan and rustic Sok Kwu Wan.

Choosing live seafood from tanks in front of the restaurants is half the fun. Good-value set menus take the guessing out of ordering especially for larger parties. Look for recommended dishes like fried chilli crab, baked lobster with cheese on e-fu noodles and shellfish steamed or stir-fried in chilli and black bean sauce. Most of the seafood restaurants on the island offer flexible seating arrangements and the biggest one accommodates up to 800 guests.

Some restaurants even organise charter boat rides between Lamma Island and Central for groups to enjoy the beautiful views of the Victoria Harbour along the way.
