The Iron Fairies

This popular fantastical hangout for party people, with sister venues in Tokyo and Bangkok, is another dramatic drinking den by designer Ashley Sutton. It pays homage to a fairy-tale world with interiors resembling an underground mine of maze-like tunnels. Iron fairies are piled in the centre of every table and 10,000 preserved butterflies hang from the ceiling.

On most nights, it hosts live jazz, blues and rock performances in the main miner’s hall that has six private booths located in individual cast-iron furnaces. Its late-night comfort food menu and mixologist Joseph Boroski’s range of cocktails are just as creative as this whimsical underworld.
