World heritage Kayaking: UNESCO Geopark

Organise a group excursion to the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark, at the eastern coastal area of Sai Kung District that is known for its dramatic countryside. Your group can view stunning rock formations and landscapes on kayaks in the Geopark’s sheltered Sai Kung Inner Sea, home to numerous inhabited and uninhabited islands.

Many operators along Sai Kung town’s Sha Ha Beach offer kayak tours led by trained guides – often with a meal included. Make a point of heading 2km from Sai Kung town to Sharp Island, known for two pristine beaches and many stunning geo-sites. In low tide, a tombolo of sand and stunning orange Pineapple Bun Rocks are revealed. Visitors can even walk across the tombolo without getting wet feet to an islet, Kiu Tau, which boasts fine coastal views.
